Mushroom xacuti is one the famous foods of Goa. It is prepared with Pork, sometimes with heart and kidney added to enhance its flavours. The dish takes a long time to be prepared as firstly meat is boiled for some time, after that it is sliced and then fried in oil. After doing all the pre-arrangements the meat finally goes to cook. 4. RAVA FRIED FISH
Rava fried fishis prepared by tamarind pulp, chilli powder, garlic, salt, turmeric and of course Rava ‘Suji’. Rava fish is prepared by firstly marinating the fish in the spice mixture for 15 minutes, and then the marinated fish is tossed in the rava and immediately dipped into the hot oil. The fish is fried until crisp, and the flavour that comes is juicy and wonderful.
5. MACKEREL RECHEADO
This goan food is specially prepared for those who love chillies. Mackerel has a very strong aroma while it is cooked. Prepared by slicing a cross section in the fish and then stuffed with hot chilli masala paste. The masala which is applied is known as “rechado”, which is the hottest chilli masala in Goa. When stuffing is done it’s the time to fry the fish. The ingredients like garlic, red chilli, ginger, lime and different spices enhance its taste. You must try it out once.
